“Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breathe their final breath and if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit will be immortalized”

— The Ultimate Warrior, April 7, 2014.

Scott and Matt break down Wrestlemania 30 and discuss the event’s place in history, attempting to keep a positive face on the show in the face of the Ultimate Warrior’s sudden death April 8. Scott discusses his issues with an ESPN personality’s drive-by analysis of the Warrior’s death, while Houston saves some angry words for HLN’s resident harpy Nancy Grace.

Was Wrestlemania 30 the best Wrestlemania of them all? The Streak is over; why isn’t Scott upset about it? Our heroes break down the event as a form of therapy for us all.

Rest in peace, Ultimate Warrior, and may God bless you and your family in their time of grief.

B. Brian Blair stops in to talk with Scott about his tag team match (along with George South) against Ricky Morton and Bushwhacker Luke Dec. 7 in Clayton, NC. He discusses his history with the WWE, his political leanings, the real reasons the Killer Bees never won the WWE Tag Team Championship, and much more.

Then Matt Houston joins Scott to recap Wrestlecade, discuss his medical issues keeping him out of the ring, and the Top Five Pizza Toppings. The spirited argument that ensues is something to behold.

And don’t forget to come early to Clayton December 7!

Scott visited the CWF Mid Atlantic Sportatorium this week and discussed qrestling, training, and moonshine with the Killbillies. “Barefoot” Bobby O’Neal joined Arik Andrews and Evan Banks for six-man tag action with their old trainer Shawn Christian and the new tag team of Smith and Weston, and the antics of the region’s most popular tag team drew Scott’s interest. Manager/Commentator Nick D stopped in to recite some Shakespeare, and Scott and Houston blathered on like usual. Have a listen!

Scott is a little giddy this week, as the Manaconda has returned from a hospital stay necessitated by an abdominal disorder that frankly frightened the living bejesus out of him, Matt’s family, friends, and Rob McBride (who gets this week’s special producer credit for posting the above photo, where Matt attempted an Arabian Press against doctor’s orders. To say this created some drama at Manaconda Manor would be understating things).

After pleasantries and a rant from Scott we haven’t seen since last Thanksgiving, Scott and Matt discuss their five favorite supercards. They did a draft, so they included TEN supercard series AND an honorable mention each. Fans of WrestleRock and SuperClash will be elated.

Scott and Matt will return next week for a regular program, hopefully with an actual non-feline guest. Email your thoughts and well wishes for Mr. Houston at You can also say hello to him on Facebook His fan site (where you can buy exclusive Manaconda gear)is You can follow Matt on twitter @ManacondaMatt, and Scott is still tweeting @scotteiland.

Scott talks to CWF Mid Atlantic showrunner (and This Week In Wrestling regular guest) Brad Stutts to discuss the results of the CWF Rumble. He and Matt Houston then talk to the Rumble’s winner, Zane Dawson. Scott eventually gets ejected from the building during the interview. We apologize for Mr Houston’s and Mr. Dawson’s behavior, as it was unprofessional. Also, Scott was locked putside, which is pretty funny.

From the Mount Airy National Guard Armory in Mount Airy, NC:

Justin Flash defeated ASAP after a reverse tornado DDT.

The Gorilla Squad beat Steven Hayes, Phil Stamper, and Steven Niles.

Roland Dyce (with Moses Manson) defeated The Natural Born Playa after the Natural Born One refused to let ASAP interfere.

The Star City Rollers (with Jenny Jannetty) beat Dysfunctional Disorder after Jenny kidnapped “Mr Monkey,” Robbie Evil’s teddy bear.

Bobby Yela upset “The Caramel Candy” James Anthony when Anthony accidentally dropped the belt into the Yo Boy’s arms. Immediately after the match, Phil Stamper cashed in his “Money in the Piggy Bank” match and pinned Bobby (who was still dazed after Anthony’s running enziguri). Phil Stamper is now the AIWF Mid Atlantic Cruiserweight champion.

Thanks to outside interference from Allison Brooke, Damien Arcane, AND Rick Deezel, JD Anderson defeated Rob McBride to win the AIWF Mid Atlantic championship. McBride had JD set up for the Saturday Night Superstar finisher when Deezel interfered, hitting the Boogiewoogieman on the back of the knee. McBride had been weakened by repeated attacks by Anderson and Co., so he collapsed under Anderson’s weight. When Allison Brooke held his good foot, McBride was unable to kick out. The fans reacted…poorly.

In the main event, Dick Foley beat Gunner by disqualification. The Hardcore Hero had Gunner in his mandible claw (complete with socko) and Gunner was fading when The Star City Rollers interfered, causing referee Darren to call for the bell. The Family proceeeded to beat down the Hardcore Hero (and boss) until The Gorilla Squad ran into the ring and cleared it. The Gorilla Squad then challenged the Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions to a match February 23. The Rollers accepted.

AIWF Power Pro Wrestling returns to the National Guard Armory February 23. Already signed for that card: D’arcy Dixon will face Alexis Parrish in PGWA action.

The Carolina Wrestling Federation presented a night for the Zeban family January 26. Katie Zeban (cameraman Steve Zeban’s daughter) is suffering from severe scoliosis and is having back surgery in February. Every CWF staff member – wrestlers, announcers, and support staff- donated 100% of the proceeds to the Zeban family. As always, we’ll talk about it on the podcast, but here are the complete results:

Donnie Dollars and Mark James defeated Alex Adonis and Jesse Ortega in tag team action, with Donnie finishing Ortega with his big boot to the face. This website has decided to call the Dollars finisher “The Bottom Dollar.” (Please submit all alternatives to the comment section below.) After the match, Adonis announced that this would be his last CWF match (he debuted in 2004 and has been a mainstay in area rings ever since.) Adonis is moving back to his home state of California.

In a triple threat match, the Black Watch’s Chase Dakota beat his former partner Matt Smith and Kyle Mack when he pinned young Mack.

In an eight-man scrum, Aric Andrews, Rudy Lewis, Ernie Osiris, and Chris Lea beat Cecil Scott, Mecha Mercenary, “The Absolut” Cory Duncum, and “The Prince of Heat” Court Montgomery. After the match, Lewis invited Steve Zeban to the stage to dance with the winning team, which the cameraman accepted (after much prodding from the crowd, and with an embarrassed smile on his face).

The Fun Athletic Guys (Ben Tyler and Trevor Lee) narrowly defeated The Mid Atlantic Outlaws (Louis Moore and Matt Houston) in what arena observers called one of the two best matches of the night.

“The First” Rick Converse beat the returning Lee Valiant, with the help of the Fun Athletic Guys and William L. Cross. After the match, all four members of the Aftermath (Lee, Tyler, Converse, and Cross) beat down Valiant until Rob McBride ran out to make the save (to a huge pop from the crowd.) McBride cleaned house, giving both Fun Athletic Guys a ‘Saturday Night Superstar” powerslam. He then gave William Cross a sleeper, and Ric Converse did not come to the Aftermath’s aid, choosing to escape to the dressing room instead.

The Goon Squad (with “Assistant Coach” Court Montgomery) beat Chiva Kidd and Kamikaze Kid when Walter Eaton got away with an illegal cradle (using the ropes to help gain a pinfall.) After the match, Eaton and Roy Wilkins abandoned Montgomery, and Chiva and Kamikaze Kid both hit the hapless Assistant Coach with their finishers (a shooting star press from Chiva and a four-star frog splash from Kamikaze).

Arik Royal defeated a game and gutty Cedrick Alexander to retain the CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Championship.
